ABOUT COLORS

RED is considered to be our psychologically dominant warm color and BLUE is considered to be our dominant cool color.The uses of the psychological categorizing of color is very important to us as mixers and users of color.I think of red as a symbol of fire and heat and blue as a symbol of water,ice,sky and coolness.Yellow is also considered a warming color,we are thinking of its a sunlight and therefore some yellow on the farm side actually appear to enhance the temperature of color to which they are added.A cool yellow such as Lemon Yellow will lighter a color but will not warm.that color like Cadmium Yellow Light or Cadmium Yellow Medium(Lemon Yellow is a greenish yellow) when thinking of warm/cool colors.I must also think of time of day.Morning colors are usually cooler than midday and afternoon colors.The morning sky is more pastel and cooler than an afternoon or evening sky.Creating the painting does not mean just selecting the subject and then painting it.Its mean selecting a subject and then choosing exactly how to portray it..all of these decisions must be made and than we have a plan for our work which gives us a clear direction of our color selection and the mixtures we can obtain from them.Now we can make the painting happen and not just hope it happens.

INSPIRATION

Music has always been a large part of my life-play it,listening to it.I became inspired by the idea of making paintings with music.Thinking that would be an exciting way to stimulate my creativity,expand the use of my senses and give my paintings greater impact.

I approach my works with two key elements in mind.Simplicity and balance.These are stressful time and we could all use a little more tranquility in our lives.I strive to make direct,uncomplicated paintings that are detailed but uncluttered,peaceful but strong.Since these characteristics are of utmost impotance to me..

BREAKING THE RULES?

Many people make statements of what the rules are.This is bad,this is good.I dont believe there are rules in art.The whole history of art has been about breaking the rules.Everyone has to find his or her own approach.The ultimate criterion is what works!

My Years of Drawing

I did a drawing as soon as i got home from exhibitions, and i felt it was the best drawing i had ever done.I started to draw more and more frequently.I worked exclusively in graphite,developing my technique,dicipline and skills.I'm left-handed and all my years of drawing with graphite got me into the habit of working from right to left in order to keep the image from smearing.What i try to express in my work is the joy,contentment and serenity and the sense of mystery,i feel i explore the landscape,portrait and Malay figure's workers.I hope that my works will be recognized for its honesty,expresiveness,freshness and originality.I want to grow and surprise my audience and dont want to remain static.

TERAPI SENI

saya pernah bekerja sebagai visualizer,draughtman(pelukis pelan),animator,display artist dan illustrator.semuanya berkaitan dgn bidang senilukis.sudah ditentukanNya.pernah saya membuat latihan tubi melukis potret.berkeping2 potret saiz kecil saya lukis semalaman.nak improve punya pasal.dengan penuh minat,penuh ghairah saya lukis.berkat latihan disertai kegigihan rupanya bidang lukisan ni menjadi satu gerak kerja peningkatan di bawah sedar.karya akan berubah dan terus berubah disertai pemikiran yang lebih mendalam.makin belajar semakin ketara kekurangan.tetapi dari kekurangan itulah sebenarnya dinamakan TERAPI SENI..

HAMDANSALLEH(1969- )
mula melukis sejak di bangku sekolah.melakar dinding dan buku lakaran.waktu tu gemar melukis kereta dan pelbagai permainan kanak2.ada juga potret super 'mokh' jaguh bola.walau tidak seseni mana,tapi rakan sedarjah kenal la tu potret super mokh.melukis dan terus melukis di iringi minat mendalam.warna seniman tiada bernoktah..
